| Comments & discussion:Daniel AlekowSun 4th Nov, 2007 and we still have one that is to be finished ;) but sure, I don't mind helping out with that, just poke me when the final theme has been decided on. Beverly JohnsonSat 3rd Nov, 2007 Gracie, I can't quite decide what to vote for, I'm just excited about the whole thing. Gracie RaffertySat 3rd Nov, 2007 Okay Mark - yeah; I counted your vote as landscape :D Although the worldwide contrib I considered a secondary idea and therefore people can vote for that as well (although in practice it's nearly done anyhow) Yeah - the color picking feature (i'm not sure when this happened) of our neighbors squares will make this much easier to seamlessly work with eachother. Emily - I'm not sure why they put us in this shape but I've had word from 3 additional people that they'd like to join; so hopefully the admins can get them added to that 3x2 area on the top right of us :D Might even out the shape a little. Dan - yeah, I think picking a stock photo that has a lot of interest in all areas of the photo is key. I might ask you to help me with that since we've been doing speedpaints together for over a year now. :D Even if we have a sky; we can be sure there are lots of clouds and people can feel free to add birds, or little details, where ever they see fit :D Daniel AlekowSat 3rd Nov, 2007 ha! I'm sure I can find you a number of sky pictures that won't bore people at all! haha, but yeah, you're probably right, we should avoid too large skies or waterscapes. a river would be fun though, it could meander through various squares and kind of lead through the whole image, I'd like that. soft hills on the side...moody colours, a low sun...yeaaah :D Emily CoombsSat 3rd Nov, 2007 I think the landscape would work the best out of the ideas we have because, firstly, it would be very noticeable, and at the same time there would be plenty of opportunities for everyone to customise their piece with their own details. The shape might be a slight problem (a 5x6 rectangle might have worked better), but it could work to our advantage if we find something that really works with it. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this turns out! Mark WatkinsonSat 3rd Nov, 2007 Hi Gracie, not sure if you counted my vote before but I'm with a landscape idea as I think it will be a good starting point for those of us less experienced on the Big Collab. Just tried the colour picking from neighbours squares and it works which makes joining the squares seamlessly so much easier. I can tell this is going to be really good. If you go with a landscape idea you probably will not want a source photo that has loads of sky at the top otherwise those with the squares at the top of the Big Collab might be a bit bored. Cheers Mark Gracie RaffertySat 3rd Nov, 2007 ooo, I'll add that to the landscape section to vote on the specifics :) Same with Dan's snowy idea :D You guys can now vote on specific landscape ideas or add new ones :D Also, just so you guys know; this bulletin is actually an image - so if you want to see the updates, do a hard refresh (pressing F5) to see the changes. It's just easier than potentially running out of bulletin space with the word limit restriction :) Magnus WittstromSat 3rd Nov, 2007 Thanks :) To add to the ideas: A single big tree where the season change from spring on one side to winter on the other. Gracie RaffertySat 3rd Nov, 2007 Haha. I like that too dan... I think it'd be cool to see our collab picture change over time... And magnus - we have a few more people that will be added soon so the shape won't be too much of a problem I think :D And yeah - each square can add different details or diverge from the source image :D I think even adding little space monkeys hidden in places would be good, since Laura Dixon is in our collab and she's the space monkey mistress! :D Magnus - I'll add your vote to the landscape idea :D Magnus WittstromSat 3rd Nov, 2007 I like the landscape idea, that way we have a common background and people can still add their own details (like birds or trees) And it should be pretty easy to do as well (we can try something more complex later). The only problem with a landscape is the current shape of the collab, but a waterfall or something like that on the left side might work well. Daniel AlekowSat 3rd Nov, 2007 the idea of making several pictures over each other IS cool >.> would be fun if then some randomizer function would always show one of those big pictures, but making sure that each collab member has a part of the same collab picture on the frontpage :D but yeah, I guess we should get the first one done first and see how that works :D Gracie RaffertySat 3rd Nov, 2007 Hey Jeanne :D You just did - basically I'm adding the votes manually, so no worries... all you need to do is let me know :D That would be cool actually... if we had a collab and finished, we could also create a new one later on top of our old images... sure :D Haha. I think we'll cross that bridge when we come to it - for now let's decide on our (first) collab to do :D Jeanne KrebbeksSat 3rd Nov, 2007 I still like the landscape idea....perhaps when this is finished we could collaborate on another--childlike theme of some fantasy or other...Love any idea...Peace to all...Jeanne Krebbeks PS I am new to this - how do I vote? Gracie RaffertySat 3rd Nov, 2007 Hehe, Dan, I counted your earlier comment in messages as a vote for landscape. I'm not sure I get the lightsource thingie either - Joe, can you clarify what you mean?
