OMM Painting Tutorial

Okay, well I figured out what I'd do with my second square finally. I've seen a few people around complaining that they don't know how to blend and/or understand the digital painting process, so I figured I'd explain a bit about the tools and the program itself so that more people could dig in and really enjoy OMM like I do. It's in my gallery, not the default image - I've covered all the tool basics and will be exploring color next. I'm not sure how many more strokes I've got, but I'm going to explain everything as best I can till my stroke limit is up. ive got a real thing for black and white digital images. have you ever tried to recreate some pencil art on omm gracie?

Hahaha. Hey Mark! I can totally do a bob one too! Oh bob, you're gone, but we still remember you. Hehe. I'm glad to hear you're keeping up the drawing! Perspective is a good one, so is shadows and light, I think I might try those if no one else has anything they desperately want to see in the new one. Have a great weekend as well, I'll probably be doodling more on my new square while I work out some stuff for work in my head. I love OMM - the little squares are perfect for doodles! Cheers, Gracie

Hi Gracie, thanks for your last comment and I feel you deserve the support as what you have done represents the spirit of the site perfectly. Yep, I am going to stick with trying to improve my drawing etc. as I find it very absorbing and relaxing. I'll try and think of a subject to suggest for the tutorials (perspective, use of light and shadows?) and look forward to seeing some more of your art now you have the upgrade. Something tells me we haven't seen the last of the cheese eating giraffe. LOL Mark. Well I wish there was a way to save the playback and then post it offsite - I could host it myself and just create a bunch of links, then make a whole series or something. But alas I don't think that's possible to save it, so I tried to cover most of what I could, and what i thought was most important. Anyhow I'm really glad you enjoyed it, even if it just helps one person out, that makes it totally worth it to me. :)

Hi Gracie, Just watched this and it is fantastic, it is a lot better than just reading a set of instructions as the animation demonstrates how everything works, it is also humourous which is good. The colour blending will be especially useful to people like me who are new to drawing and painting but have been inspired by the OMM and want to progress and improve.

If any administrators are reading this it would be great to get this tutorial put somewhere on the front of the site so it is easy for everyone to locate it and get the benefit. It would also free up another space on Gracie's gallery for a second painting which are always awesome. Although for doing the tutorial you could always give her a free upgrade, hint , hint.
