Hidden meanings are what give depth, life and passion to art. Share with us what your square means! I'll go first.

My art sometimes expresses my anger with the world’s standards of beauty. My square, Nature’s Sight, is symbolic for my personal inner search for beauty; the rose I strived to make delicate and ideal in every way holds a message about what beautiful used to mean—natural, pure, and uncomplicated.

see? it's easy--now you do it! smiley

I am currently working on series of paintings based on my childhood fears and joys
i guess my main square is reflection/amalgamation of some of the strange faces I have been painting lately. The other squares are based on whatever I was feeling at the time
I generally use my art as form of release.

btw morgan your piece really reflects what you were wanting to acheive! smiley

My image was just about social tolerance of other people. Shapes, sizes, colours, religions the lot. A pretty basic concept....I think it worked. smiley

Mine's about a breakup... I guess it reflects my own past expirience :/.
The images in it are pretty self-explanitary- a girl in distress as she sees her love with another girl. I did the scribbled lines over it to try & show that when you look closer you realise that everything's not so simplistic, and also careless scribbles kind of represent furstration and anger. I used warm colours on the girl but cold colours on the rest because the girl felt love & trust towards the guy, but his feelings turn out to be kinda the opposite. The moon's what made the girl realise what was going on, and I used a moon because you can't always see it but it's always there. I tried to use that to represent the people who care for her. The "six months - six lies" is just something I can relate to, because that's what the situation was.
It's a sad picture but I liked drawing it because it gave me to chanel out all my emotions on the situation, and to let it all out, I guess..
Ruthy x
PS. Great drawings :]. They all really show the meanings and work really well!
