So let's figure out what it needs. I'm not done with it, obviously, and I want to make sure it works out.
I'm thinking I might ditch the stars and work with some clouds, or maybe do both. He did a ceiling painting at a local catholic church, which is why I chose the star background. I'll definately go back and make it look better. Just playing around with the whole thing.
Color is important to me.
Detail is not. |

| Personally, I think the stars are really nice. They give it an air of peacefulness and hope, by all means, there's nothing more beautiful then a starry night. Maybe you should add slight tonal diffrences to the sky though, just so it dosen't look flat. |

Yeah, I like stars a lot. Though I did those in a matter of seconds and I'm not really liking 'em.
I'm thinking maybe sunset colors, then a line of small clouds above it, then blue gradate to purple to black with a few smaller stars. Give him more space or something.
I've been playing around with it, but I haven't saved anything. |

| Yes, I guess that would look nice. Just make sure it dosen't interfere to much with the picture. Then again I'm pretty sure you know what you're doing. |

| *nods* You've hit the main problem on the head. What I've done looks ok, but doesn't work with the picture. Of course I have been working dark. I'm going to go lighter with the background now. It should work better with what I've done on him. |

| mmh yeah, good idea. Maybe you could do a glow, it would make him stand out... then again it might look horribly corny. |

Ok! I think I've found something I like. I wasn't planning on going this route, but I remember this. I wasn't there, but you should have seen him as he was telling me about this tree frog, and how it was storming at his house (Maybe I should go that route?) and he was painting and watching a public tv station which was showing a satalite/spaceshuttle image of the storm he was in at that moment. So he had this almost epiphany like revalation and just an amazement that he was in a storm and looking at the storm that someone else was watching and that everyone else could watch too... And there in the middle of it, unaware of him, the space shuttle, or the storm was this little treefrog on his window.
He was the best. Anyway, I like the way the glass is in front of him, so the viewer can't interact with him. Separated. But there's that tree frog. Heh!
