I was looking at the picture, and its absolutely great, but the pieces dont really fit in well. How about you launch another one, but you have to try your best to make your piece fit in with the adjacent pieces? I've seen it done on several forums, but with less squares, so theis idea would be interesting to watch develop =D |

I think the main problem is alot of people have their own idea of what their block should look like and don't want to blend there images, the fact that you can't choose where to place your block is also a bit of a bother, some people created there images one day and just dissappeared, you'd never hear from them again. collaborating is going to be a challenge.I'm willing to collaborate with the people around me though. |

I guess this is just part of the grand experiment. I don't particularly mind if every single image is a seperate entity, because then it plays into the "our world from one million perspectives" theme. In about four weeks we're going to email every single person and encourage them to come back and see what their neighbours have done, so this might have an effect.
One interesting development will soon be the ability to trade places with other people. Wouldn't it be great if light coloured squares started trading with dark, so that although all the images remain individual some larger form could develop when zoomed right out of the picture |

Yeah, nice idea! Also, can I just ask, once every square is finished, will you be able to buy a copy, sort of? And the poster/picture gets updated every week because people can still edit squares? |

Richard, it's kind of up to the community to decide how things pan out. At the moment we are planning to take a snapshot at the end of June 2007, which will be the final version to be unveiled at the big event. There will certainly be posters etc of this version available, as well as Guinness World Record certificates etc.
After that the website will probably remain open to alterations and additions - I think everyone will be asked to vote on it... |

I'd definately love to stay here, altering things if I need to =D
Oh, and last suggestion/question for this topic: Why dont you make it so you have a 'bank' of pictures, and when you save it, it goes into the bank. You can choose 1 picture out of your bank to show on the picture. You can change it when you want to. Then you can work on several pieces of art, and still easily revert back to the old one. |

Yeah this idea of an image bank is an interesting one. I know that a huge number of people don't want to change their image, which means that there is a limit as to what they can get out of the site.
I'll find out what the technical implications are for this because I do like the idea. |
