I'd probbly never have mentioned this had i not recived a rude comment and bad rating...

eww growse i am 10 yr old (2 / 5)

I have the tiniest bit of tasteful nudity in my image and i don't find it anything scandalious, but i did uncheck the "child friendly" box out of respect for the availability of the controls. That person shouldn't have been allowed to view my page in the first place, or at least that's what i thought that control meant...

(And yes, that person does have 10 listed as their age in their profile)

He left my mom a negative comment as well. I only comment, because I've been watching his image progress (and his somewhat random comments). He's got a bloody ninja bunny right now. smiley

I really don't think you have anything to worry about him smiley Your image is no more than he'd see looking at the old master works. It's my personal opinion, but I don't think it's necessary to censor yourself.

If the 'child friendly' function is not working properly then that is a cause for concern. It would be worthwhile PM-ing Paul and Eamonn to draw their attention to this in case they miss this thread. Not sure how much work is planned for the OMM over the holidays, however.

The boy in question has been very active and posted a pretty funny comment on mine too. I think all of the good comments and raitings you will get for your image will soon make up for the one rogue, two out of five smiley

I completely misread your statement. I thought you'd unchecked the box AFTER the incident. I'm not operating at full capacity today smiley

This makes me wonder how the box does work...

I just did a little test. I logged out and was still able to see Anne's pic in all of its glory smiley I got the same result when I changed my age. I'm now officially a six-year-old (until I change my age back to 27, that is). I feel uncomfortable asking for child controls, as I don't think they are necessary beyond what we have. I do, however, want to report what I've found.

That's a bit odd....I have a cpmment that he really likes mine, but I have a very similar image to yours. (Apart from the Christmas hats and Space Monkeys!) I guess you can't see any nipples on mine, but you can see a bum and a breast! I don't have mine logged as child unfriendly as I would be more than happy for my son to see it....to be honest I don't mind if he sees any of the so-called obscene images. I guess at the moment he dosen't understand as he's only two, buteven when he's old enough to ask questions, then I think that is healthy and I should answer them in an honest and un-scary way. He often see's me naked, which I don't think is a problem, after all some women breast feed until the child is walking and talking. My husband has just bought him the picture book "Mommy Laid an Egg" which explains the facts of life in a humerous and friendly way for small children....then hopefully he will grow up, learning as he needs to and never feel frightened or ashamed of his body, or sex.

As far as I can tell, the boy making the comments is probably just trying to get a reaction. It's possible that he likes to wind people up, or is just a bit lonely.

I don't have any kids, but if I did I would probably have the same view about bringing them up as you have commented here, Lisa. Teaching 'how to think' is more important than 'what to think' in my opinion.

The parental controls proposed by Joe in another thread would provide parents with the freedom they need to make the OMM suitable for their own methods of raising children.

I hadn't thought of using the OMM as an educational tool until now smiley
If you wanted to show a child what the world thinks then take a tour of the big picture.

Oh, i have no issue with children who have the mentality to understand that it's fine, but the comment demonstrated this person is not mature enough to understand it. I wish there weren't child controls so much as maturity controls but that's not possible.

I changed the child controls when i added the breast and nipple becasue the option was there. Out of respect for those who thought it might be potentially necissary. I didn't really relish the idea but i like the whole concept and child controls were something i'd put up with for the concept. But to find out they don't even work or do anything... Booo. Why even have them then?
