why? it's an amazing picture, and i love the playback, especially the blossoms. buttt...

i believe the artist here needs to chill the heck out!

its understandable that there is some need for censorship (mainly for the children), but this is art. do you condemn Michaelangelo for his nude images? do you chastise your children for sneaking looks at-- not pornography, not filth-- but greco-roman statues?

there is a time and place for everything, and the time and place for obsessive censorship ended sometime around 1990.

I don't see any thing bad about that pic. It's just a mountain with a tree and some words. Is that really that bad??

there's nothing bad about it! i really like the image, it was just a... retaliation... to the obsessive desire of said artist to be our self-proclaimed art gestapo.

nothing against her art or anything, i think its awesome, but so are half of the pictures she puts up for deletion.

i reckon her work shouldnt be deleted.. her contribution is just as important to all of ours. i feel she just was misguided on understanding that this site is open to all skill levels and concepts. people can be misguided at times. i reckon she can atleast be cut some slack. unless it was some cruel behavior she has demonstrated then it may be probable but at least she stopped.

Addie, I love your new name. Contrary to earlier posts I think we now safely know you're a girl smileysmileysmileysmileysmiley

Sorry, off topic!

So yes, Melissa was quite enthusiastic to nominate pictures but at least she's helped to solidify the opinion of the majority.

I agree. I am sure that Melissa may have misinterpreted the concept of the project and also aim of this forum. Paul Fisher posted a considered response in an earlier thread to the ump-teen images that she nominated for deletion. All of Melissa's posts were made within minutes and can be viewed as a single response to a misguided notion, rather than a sustained attack on freedom in the OMM.

She seems to have stopped posting on the forums completely, but her image remains a great contribution to the OMM.

I haven't been here for a while, it's certainly been busy! smiley

Although Melissa was a little over zealous in her nominating, does that warrant her image to be deleted? If we opt for her square to be deleted that would be just the same as deleting any of the images she nominated. There is nothing offensive, discriminating or personal, so we should leave it as it is. If we delete squares for such little reason, we'll have none left!

I see. You just wanted to make your views known about censorship rather than nominate a sqaure for deletion.

Well, you're in the right forum.... Along with us internet people smiley

I agree she reports the most minor things, I don't think there is anything wrong with someone saying someone else is hot or something like that.
