About Carole Miles Hi, I'm Carole
I live in Northamptonshire, I'm an artist and I'm very worried that we care so little for each other and our non-renewable resources.
I am currently making images that can be created by computer, composed and manipulated digitally, these can then be overlaid on to a mono printed background. I also add a random pattern of machine stitching. The images are rooted in reality but layered and fragmented until they are almost abstract. I am currently working with layers and light, words and images, past and present, fact and fiction, urban decay and the natural world. Prior to that my work was figurative, non-naturalistic and based in paint / print.
I work with community groups, schools etc &
can offer workshops in relief printmaking, collagraphs, intaglio lino prints, simple screen printing, mono printing.
I also offer workshops using textiles / banners (hand or machine stitching), mosaics, scrap sculpture, painting, computer manipulated images, murals and willow.
I am also happy to undertake commissions. My most recent commissioned pieces have been a pair of mosaic panels for Studfall Primary School in Corby, a mosaic floor piece for St Gregory’s Primary School, Northampton and two textile wall hangings for The Welland Centre, Kettering.
I see on a daily basis they way in which art enriches people's lives - it can't change the world but it can help build confidence and offer insight into the complex tangle that is our world.
