| Big Collab ProjectSun 7th Oct, 2007This bulletin will be updated and changed regularly; so check back here for the latest updates on the Big Collab Project. This is just purely based on the option to "Make the new picture my default picture and let me position it in the masterpiece - coming soon" option that will happen eventually... I'd love to have some neighbors to collab with (anyone who wants to) we could talk about a theme, or a connecting image... make something fun and more community oriented. I haven't seen my neighbors since they first created their squares (but if you guys want to collab, please let me know).. I think it'd be cool if we had a few squares (as many people as wanted) all conveying a big picture. I just like the sense of cooperation that would be involved and the spirit of how open and friendly this community is, I think it would be a lot of fun. When joining, please note that your final square in the OMM will be the collab square, so keep at least 1 square free in your gallery for this one if you sign up! So, leave me a comment or PM me if you want to, let's talk! Please comment to be added to the group! Christina KrygierCommunity, Participants from every continent, Nature, Landscape Leave a comment on the bulletin if you have a theme idea to share. If someone likes an idea in the discussion, we'll post more indepth ideas on the bulletin to vote for. Participants: vote on the ideas below for the project: Worldwide contribs - vote What would be good is if you had one artist from each continent joining you to contribute to a large piece of work. - Mark WatkinsonLandscape - votes I'll add my two cents for theme ideas... since all five of us so far have squares (either as their main picture or in their gallery) related to nature, I think a landscape might be a nice choice we might all like to do. If we want to do something like this, I can prep a reference photograph with tiles so we know what part we're doing and we can work on them all at once. I think it'll be great to see each person's style and way of painting shine in each square; nothing would have to be perfect, the overall end result would be pretty cool when viewed from far away. If we did this, I can browse for stock and we can put it up to a vote as to which reference choice we use - Gracie Rafferty Comments & discussion:Gracie Rafferty Sat 13th Oct, 2007 Hey Cassie! Great, I'll add you to our group :D If you want to create an entry like this, click on the bulletin tab on your profile, and click "create new bulletin" on the menu to the left :) Cassie JayFri 12th Oct, 2007 Thanks, yeah i'd like to be added to the list. I have a question, how od you make posts like this so you can get a free upgrade? Gracie RaffertyFri 12th Oct, 2007 Hahaha. Great. I added it to the main entry. Just as a FYI - I'll be keeping the major bulletin entry organized and continue adding info to it so you can take a look at all our ideas in one major spot. Shubnum KhanFri 12th Oct, 2007 Hi Gracie, I think tahts an excellent idea! Gracie RaffertyFri 12th Oct, 2007 Hey Shubnum - Sure, I'll add you to the list :) As for the save quality; I don't know why this is happening but I see you made a thread in the bugs section of the forum; that's probably the best thing to do :) I'll add my two cents for theme ideas... since all four of us so far have squares (either as their main picture or in their gallery) related to nature, I think a landscape might be a nice choice we might all like to do. If we want to do something like this, I can prep a reference photograph with tiles so we know what part we're doing and we can work on them all at once. Shubnum KhanFri 12th Oct, 2007 I would like to be in please:) but, can you please tell me how I can make my next save without losing so much quality? Thats what keeps happening to mine:( I can't work on and I so want to! Gracie RaffertyFri 12th Oct, 2007 Hey doods! Even if you don't know if you want to participate, theme ideas are welcome too. What would you like to see in a big group of squares? I'm thinking if we did connecting images, with all our own styles, it would reflect both individuality and also cooperation, something I think OMM really represents. Cassie JayFri 12th Oct, 2007 I'd love to if I was closer to your square, but the people around me never change their squares... :( Christina KrygierFri 12th Oct, 2007 I think this is a great idea - count me in Cheers Chrisina ~~X~~ Gracie RaffertyWed 10th Oct, 2007 Haha. I'm not sure that we'd manage that, but if I get enough responses, I can begin to see if this is possible and fill in the missing gaps by contacting people. Since the feature isn't available yet, I'm going to wait on some heavy-duty planning until it's possible. Community is a great topic. We'll see what other people think :D Mark WatkinsonTue 9th Oct, 2007 Hi Gracie, It sounds like a great idea. What would be good is if you had one artist from each continent joining you to contribute to a large piece of work. Maybe you could contact some of the artists who either have the most votes or are the most active from each continent and see if they will join you. A theme of unity or community would be good. It would also be interesting if the group of squares had a shared password so that although they formed one big picture you could add to a part of the work that someone else starts and see how it evolves. Overall a great idea and a good advert for what the site is about. Your finished big square has turned out really well and is breathtaking in the detail. Let me know how you get on with the collab idea. Cheers Mark You must log-in to vote or post a comment |
