Anarchy is infact a perfectly valid polical stand point (if unrealistic), so I do not see why there should be any controversy over such an image. Besides, almost everyone who uses that icon that I've ever encountered hasn't actually known what anarchy is actually about anyway, and merely have it because it 'is cool'.
Just for reference for anyone reading this who doesn't know what anarchy is, its a state of society whereby there are no rules and people govern themselves as individuals. Its a nice idea but too many people are inherantly stupid or selfish and so on, so it wouldn't work, and the state that people usually associate with anarchy would likely arise, hence giving it negative press. If I thought it was a feasible solution I'd probably be an anarchist, but I've ogt a bit too much realist in me for that.

I imaging there are quite a few anarchist who support some of these charities. This isn't an exclusive club.
It's probably one of the most hopeful political perspectives I've run across, in my opinion. |

I am infact a owner of anarchist literature(besides the cookbook) and I plan to donate as much money as possible to this charity fun(seeing as I am 13 it most likley will not be a lot). I agree with Angeli.

Yes. The image was particularly associated with the punk music/fashion movement of the seventies and eighties. It has remained a symbol for rebellion and non-conformity since. |
