yea i checked it out, very nice mate.. watever u do i know its gonna look amazing.. lol. love the pebbles and stones that u focused on doing in ur square. btw do u use a tablet?

anyways.. i say if coz i know that i have patience.. but NOT THAT MUCH hahahaha.. and honest man.. there r alot of things i need to learn.. i would like to pick up sculpture and mechanics and jewelary making and stuff.. but way too much im guessing.. anyways..

guache aye? well i havent painted a whole painting with it yet but i can say i have tried the stuff.. to me it was more of a thick watercolour, like a very watered down sort of cream or acrylic mix hahaha. that is the best i can discribe it.. although some people say it is like a mix of oil and water colour.. great thing about it.. its water soluble as u already know. lol i plan to get guache one day. i have been doing too much acrylic.. and lately i have been doing oils. soo.. one day! lol

GDAY MATEsmiley
TA FOR THE COMMENT. I AM USING A TRACKBALL, (HARDLY KNOW ANYONE ELSE USING ONE) BUT I CRUSHED A BONE IN MY RIGHT WRIST AND IF I USE A MOUSE THE TENSION ON THE JOINT IS TO HIGH AND IT STARTS TO ACHE. I THINK IT GIVES ME ABIT MORE CONTROL BECAUSE I CAN MOVE THE BALL IN PLACE WITH MY RIGHT AND CLICK WITH MY LEFT WHICH MINIMIZES THE ACCIDENTAL MOVEMENTS OF THE MOUSE WHEN YOU CLICK.

ABOUT STUFF YOU WANT TO TRY ALOT OF PEOPLE SAY TO FOCUS ON ONE THING BUT I PERSONALLY DONT AGREE. I SAY TRY IT ALL. ONE THIN G I HAVENT TRIED YET IS JEWELRY MAKING BUT I WILL TRY IT SOON I THINK. I HAVE SOME IDEAS I AM ITCHING TO TRY OUT.

ALLISON GAVE ME SOME IDEAS ABOUT THE GUACHE THAT I AM PLAYING WITH. I HAVE HAD THIS DILEMMA. I AM TRYING TO CREATE A LIGHT MIST LAYERED INFRONT OF THIS ISLAND FLOATING IN A RIVER. SO FAR IT HAS KICKED MY A** BUT I AM GETTING CLOSER I THINK.

HI MARJOLEIN
THE TIGERPLACE SOUNDS REALLY COOL IVE NEVER HEARD ABOUT IT BUT YEAH IT SOUNDS COOL. MY PERSONAL FAVORITE SO FAR IS THAILAND. I SPENT ALL MY TIME IN THE SOUTH ISLAND-HOPPING. IM NOT MUCH OF A CITY PERSON SO I TOOK A BUS STRAIGHT DOWN SOUTH. IT IS AMAZING DOWN THERE. SNOWWHITE SAND BEACHES, PALMTREES, MONKEYS HOPPING AROUND, CAVES, CLIFFS, THAI-BOXING, LAGOONS, LAGOONS INSIDE MOUNTAINS, SCUBADIVING, SNORKELING, REEFS, SHARKS, TURTLES, RAYS, SQUID, FISHING, AND SO ON. MAKE SURE IF YOU GO TO GIVE YOURSELF ENOUGH TIME. MINIMUM THREE MONTHS AND THAT IS JUST FOR THE SOUTH IT WILL BE MORE OF AN EXPERIENCE. BECAUSE WHEN YOU CAN HANG AROUND FOR A WHILE YOU GET TO KNOW THE PEOPLE AND THEIR FAMILIES AND YOU REALLY GET A TASTE OF THEIR REALITY INSTEAD OF JUST GLANCING AT IT AS YOU MOVE BY. SOME OF THE PLACES I LIVED WITH FAMILIES THAT INVITED ME TO STAY WITH THEM.

Sounds like a dream Joe, a great dream ^ ^ one I should really realize some day. The prob is (ahem here goes my crappy english >smiley I suffer from something thats called coeliakie. I follow a special diet since I can't eat wheat and things like that, could easily end up in the hospital from it.
I wouldnt be able to just hop in local places and order things.
Though I really hope to find a selution and see a bit of the world. Thailand sounds amazing I'll surely add it to my list!
Sounds you'r having a great life, you seem to travel a lot.
I'm not that much of a city person either, shame my country has so few forests oh well thats Europe

HI MARJOLEIN
SORRY ABOUT THE LONG WAIT FOR A REPLY
YEAH THAT SUCKS. I HAVE BEEN READING UP ON IT. SOUNDS LIKE THERE ARE TWO SCIENTIFIC THEORIES ON WHAT TO DO. WHICH PLAN ARE YOU FOLLOWING?
I FOUND THIS PLACE IN OMAN THAT COULD BE PRETTY COOL FOR
STARTERS MAYBE CHECK IT OUT.
DONT KNOW WHAT SORT OF BUDGET YOU CAN RUSTLE UP BUT
THIS PLACE COULD BE A COOL PLACE FOR YOU TO GET AWAY AND STILL BE SAFE SINCE THEY HAVE A SPECIALIST WORKING THERE.

Hi Joesmiley Can I join in now. I hate trying to write on the PM. The box is too small and I have to keep checking back to see what I have written. Loads I want to ask you but to start with how long have you been travelling and where haven't you been and which is your fave place, country? Are you settled for a while now or are you planning on travelling some more? Do you fund your travels by painting and did you have a place in mind when you drew your image? Is the world round and which came first the chicken or the egg? (you can ignore the last 2 questionssmiley )

HI AUNTY MOR
HEHEHE I WAS LOOKING FOR MARJOLEINS PIC.
SORRY. COOL YEAH THE PM THING CAN BE A LITTLE HARSH. WELL THE FIRST TIME I LEFT SWEDEN ON MY OWN I WAS 13.
WELL I SOLD MY FIRST PAINTING WHEN I WAS 15 BUT NO I HAD TO WORK TO FUND MY TRAVELS. I HAVE DONE A MILLION DIFFERENT THINGS. PAINTER, FACTORY WORKER, DISHWASHER, BAKER, FRAMER, FINISHING CARPENTER, RABBITEER, FRUITPICKER, LANDSCAPER, LABOURER, FENCE WORKER, SHEEP SHEARER, HOUSE PAINTER, DRYWALLER, BLOCK LAYER, FORM WORKER JUST TO NAME A FEW. SOME WOULD CALL IT BEING A DRIFTER AT HART BUT NO MATTER WHERE I AM I FEEL AT HOME. HOBO. HMMMM....
IN THE BEGINNING I WOULD SAVE A CHUNK AND GO. COME BACK WHEN I RAN OUT. I WAS JUST LUCKY TO BE BORN IN A PLACE THAT MADE THIS POSSIBLE. IM SO LUCKY. IN MANY OTHER COUNTRIES THIS WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE. LATER TRIPS I WOULD GET UNDER THE TABLE WORK ALONG THE WAY. YEAH I HAVE BEEN IN CANADA FOR A WHILE NOW. I STILL TRAVEL. MY LATEST TRIPS HAVE BEEN TO COSTA RICA, BELIZE, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC AND BACK TO THE OLD COUNTRY TO SEE FAMILY AND VISIT GRAVES OF FAMILY AND FRIENDS THAT HAVE ENTERED THE COLLECTIVE LIFEFORCE.
MY FAVORITE COUNTRIES SO FAR:
WESTERN SOCIETIES
NEW ZEALAND
CANADA
FAR EAST
THAILAND
A HAVE SEEN A LOT BUT I HAVENT REALLY SEEN THAT MUCH. YOU CAN TRAVEL AROUND THE GLOBE ALL YOUR LIFE AND THERE WILL STILL BE MUCH MORE TO SEE.
I HAVE GONE AROUND A LOT OF CORNERS AND THIS IS WHAT MANY OF THEM HAVE IN COMMON. IT IS FUNNY AS YOU GET A LITTLE OLDER AND YOU HAVE SEEN A LOT OF PLACES MANY TIMES YOU COME OVER A CREST OR AROUND A CORNER IT BLOWS YOUR MIND THAT IT LOOKS JUST LIKE SOMEWHERE ELSE.
YOUR LAST TWO QUESTIONS ARE EASY, ONE TRIP I WENT ONE WAY AND KEPT GOING AND I FINALLY ENDED UP IN THE SAME SPOT AGAIN, YEAH IT IS ROUND. LASTLY IT MUST BE THE EGG. BUT HMM....
TALK TO YOU SOONER
PEACE OUT JOE

Howdy
Haha...a Californian saying howdy...
I have a question thats been bothering me, even though the answer is probably apparent: hows the surf in Canada? :]
(I'm in complete envy of Sin-Mae for living in NZ.)

And another question for Joe: Thailand must have been amazing! -totally butts into a conversation- How was it? (I secretly, although it's quite public, aspire to go to Thailand to fight)

Oi Brian you butterinnererr! (I just invented that word pretty cool huh?)
What do you mean you are going to fight are you a kick boxer?
Anways......Joe, Thanx for answering. Can't really complain about Brian butting in cos that is actually what I did...sorry Marjolein....
Thats one heck of a list there about how you funded your travels and how come you were allowed to leave home at the tender age of 13? smiley Thats incredibly young to get the travel bug. I personally think it should be mandatory for everyone to go walkabout at some point in their lives would certainly rid the world of a lot of its prejudices. You cannot witness extremes of poverty and suffering without being affected in some way. We saw plenty in Egypt and East Turkey when we were there. Even tho' we travelled with just a few clothes a tent and a camera that was far more than a lot of people we met owned and yet they were so kind to us. In Cyprus a peasant couple gave me a pair of trainers that their daughter had left at the house because they noticed I had holes in the bottom of my shoes and they fed us for 3 days (home made bread out of an outside oven delicious!) while they let us pitch tent in their garden. Only bugbear I had was that my hubby, then boyfriend was offerd the local fire water and cos I was a girl I wasn't!!
We have seperately and together travelled quite a bit.Our longest stint being for a year and a half (had to come back cos of illness) but that is nothing compared to the amount you have done! Actually feel quite depressed now. If you cannot see the whole world in 30 years how am I meant to fit it in after the kids have left home? Nevermind anything else we will be a lot slower by then!! Still it will be a lot more comfy in the V.W. Can make a nice cup of tea whenever I wantsmiley
What has been your scariest moment Joe? We crewed on a boat out of Eilat in Israel and one night there was a tremendous storm. Our skipper in his stupidity told us to sail out of the harbour and ride out the storm rather than heading for the port that was sheltered like every other boat did. Not surprisingly we got into trouble. The mizzen broke. The engine flooded (forgot to say this sailing boat was a 130ft Baltic Trader) The speed boat attached to moor her sank and we started drifting to the Jordan shore where we noticed several army jeeps lined up with lots of soldiers jumping around. Were not sure if they were going to save us or shoot us! Then the Israeli army boat came to rescue us we caught the rope (don't forget we were being hit by 30ft+ waves at the time so not an easy thing to do) tied it to the mooring post they pulled away full throttle and....tore out the post and the front section of our boat!! We were finally pulled in to port by a tug boat at 7am having left the harbour at 9pm the previous night and had to clear up the boat and set sail at 9am with 70 finnish soldiers on board!!!!!!
Ooops think I better stop now I seem to be writing a novel. smiley
