Just an idea, but my parents are not happy with me using their credit card details on the internet on a site they don'y know, so basically I can not donate, which is a shame. Some websites allow you to pay by mobile, so you send a text to the number saying you would like to donate and then they get the money off your credit (or something. I don't really know how or why it works) and I guess they send you a code which you put on the website and it then says that you have donated. Just an idea, don't know if it will actually work, but it may lead to many more teens/children donating. Happy drawing, everyone xxx |

I suspect the trouble with something like that is it can easily be abused by people paying with other peoples phones - and would I suspect be expensive to set up, but thats just guessing. Its still a good idea though, I know until I got my own debit card suspicion of anything being paid onto the net was quite high. In the mean time, just badger your parents a bit, lol, it usually works eventually, lol. Make sure to mention its for a good cause. |

Paul and I did toy with the idea of including a postal payment option, whereby you can send a cheque or even a postal order instead of using your card online. If this would be popular do let us know.
Paying by paypal is a good option for people who are not keen to enter their card details, as you only need to enter your paypal username and password to pay. You do, of course, need to register your card details with paypal as part of the process if you are not a member already.

i must agree with the idea of mobile phone payment, it has been extremely popular with many donation/funding groups. i participated in one before of little Aria raising 1million dollars for her transplant in america and it was extremely successful. especially putting an ad through news papers, perhaps non members could put forward a donation as there could be a possibility of some whom do not want a OMM profile. If it is for a cause i wouldnt believe that this system would be too expensive, that is if you could get to the right people. I too dont use a credit card, i dont trust online shopping and paypal is pretty difficult for myself especially cause i haven't done it before. Text payment definately opens up sponsorship opportunities with younger techno generations. |

Good point. Maybe a debit card would be a safer bet... |
