Soon Paul and I shall be revising the layout of the user profiles - we'll be packing in lots of extra features for everyone to play around with and improving on what is there already.
We would like to hear your suggestions first - many of the ideas already mentioned in this forum will be implemented but if you have any new suggestions, or indeed any thoughts concerning the layout or navigation of the new profiles, then we would love to hear what you have to say! |

One thing that is bugging me: After I login, it takes me to "edit my image" page. This usually means that drawing flash application is loading and slowing down my browser while I try to get away from that page and it asks me if I really want to leave the page without saving changes (when I haven't really made any). In my opinion it would be much better if it would take me to my profile page instead of image editing page after login.
Hmm... that's not really directly related to Profile enhancements..? Duh! =P

I think it's a great suggestion nonetheless, Timo. The same thing happens with me. Unless I hit another link immediately, I'm in trouble
I'd heard that it was once available, but removed for security. I'd like the ability to insert some html tags (i.e. <br> or link tags) or have the profile section recognize hard returns like the forums do. I'd also like to see breaks in long lines of characters. There are a couple images on here that are pushed far to the side because a long URL or some other long line of characters has been inserted. I'm in Firefox, so I haven't really explored how this looks in IE. |

Yes, I totally agree with having line breaks in profiles, just like on this forum. I have made many similar scripts with PHP and MySQL that allowed line breaks, and I don't see why couldn't this be used in profile sections on OMM. In this case limiting character count wouldn't be enough, as someone could insert a lot of line breaks which would possibly break page layout, so along with character limit there should be something limiting the actual size of the text area. But I think that including HTML tags isn't necessary.

Would it be possible to have a "favourites" button? Someway of saving the profile numbers of squares you would like to go back to. To use the member search means having to remember name or number. There are several animations etc. on here that I would like to go back to periodically to see what they have added and unlike Sin-Mae they haven't posted on the forum and it takes forever trying to find them again on the big pic. |

Moira - that's a great idea!! I have emailed myself lists of links to keep an eye on, but seem to always misplace them
It would be nice to see a "people I'm watching" kind of area on the profiles page. |

Having user-created description tags for images would be really helpful, like the ones they use on flickr and other photo-sharing sites. A number of people have mentioned that they find it difficult finding an image when they don't know the profile number, title or artist name. Being able to search by content would be really useful, and I think that as the number of members increase so will the benefit of having tags. |

Perhaps a system where you can save say, a small number of your favourite comments on your piece so they are always displayed and not lost? |

Could it be made easier to delete comments too. I did a new image and wanted to delete all the comments from the picture before but it took so long I gave up after the first page. |

Oooh just thought of another one. When you view a picture and then go back to the big pic it adjusts to the same size each time so you have to up the size to see the pictures properly. Could it not take you back to the size you were viewing at originally? |

I think at some point someone mentioned a "gallery"? There are a number of people who want to use the software to create new images, but they don't want to delete the one they have or make another account. |

i love how the profile is going to be updated and it sounds like a cool idea. I would also love to have a color sheeme choice and to be able to add my own picture graphic of some sort (you know like html and css). A faster picture upload option would be great too instead of waiting two days to have it appear updated on your profile and avatar. Image quality for thumbs would be fantastic ^_^;; ok those are my oppioions about what should happen. *Skadattles off* |

Would it be possible to show on the profile when a person joined the OMM? At present it only shows this on the forums. |

Is there a way to show some stats about the persons masterpiece? for example, is it logged somewhere how long one has worked on it? or how many times the picture has been edited and when was the last change made?
Also some more stats about the person similar to what deviantart has, like how many comments this person has given out and how many times the profile has been viewed by others besides himself and when the person last visited.

I Think A Gallery Would Be Great ..! And The Favorites Sounds Cool! And I Think Someone Has Mentioned It Before, If We Could Like Bookmark Places In Our Playback? That WOULD Be Cool Thats My Opinion Anyways X.o.X.<3.X.o.X Ps. And A Faster Update On The Pictures Would Be Great [Because Ussually By The Time The Whole Of My Picture Is Updated On My Profile, I've Already Got Bored Of It And Changed It All, And So On!!]

how about one of the options when you make an account is which page you want to be taken to, the home page or edit drawing or your profile, because i have had the same annoyances as Timo Jääskeläinen with the edit drawing taking forever to load when i log in. |

Thanks for all your ideas!
There are big changes in the pipeline - almost every aspect of the site is going to be overhauled. We are trying to accomodate every feature requested here and more, and we will have a great new graphic design for the site too. Here are just some of the major developments which you can expect:
1) Your own image gallery, where you can have lots of paintings. 2) Jumbo sized pictures. 3) Draw straight onto the canvas, and zoom in and out. 4) Unlimited brushstrokes. 5) Your own bulletin within your profile, like a mini-blog.
It takes time though! thank you all for your patience.

That's awesome news! Can't wait for the new OMM. Once it's ready, I am going to spend some time on this site again! |

This is going to be great! *rubs hands in anticipation* Can I echo Ruth Malcolm's call for bookmarks in the playback? I could sure use that. |
