Hi, I'm just confused as to whether it is one million contributors ot one million images, as I've noticed some people having more than one square. It doesn't matter or make a difference - I'm just curious! Thanks x
Ps Absolutely amazing idea. Whoever thought of it should have a big gold star on their square! x |

Your picture is wonderful Melissa!!!
I guess it doesn't really matter so long as there are one million individual pieces of art, although I assume that the idea is there to be one million seperate people. Confused? |

Thanks, I thought your picture was brilliant - I noticed it yesterday. Really sums up our generation! The only reason I wondered about the million people/images thing was because I thought that less money would be raised if you could do more than one picture and only register once. I suppose they've done something to prevent that though. I've been telling everyone I know to do one - it's such an amazing idea. Nice to meet you! Melissa x |

Hi Melissa
The projects aim to get 1million individual people onto the site, although we have noticed some people signing up twice using different e-mail addresses.
New procedures are being put in place at the moment to try and stop this, so hopefully we'll get 1million people into this great community!

with the record attempt: do multiple people count? are black squares counted?
how do you think you'll implement the prevention? I'm trying to get the people who come over to my house to sign up while they're here, and my husband and two housemates all have their own squares, so I don't think that IP address logging is the wisest move (the nsw school system shares a few IP addresses, too.), and people may have the same name.. I'm not sure, it's a thing to think about, definately. |

i'm a little confused... it says currently, that there are 16,385 members in the OMM. is this the figure for members who've paid, or for the total number of members overall??? it just looks a lot more than that, and also the final picture is being unveiled later this year...surely to increase 16,385 members to 1,000,000 would be a little unrealistic?? i'd be grateful if someone could put me out of my misery. ~love kxx |

"16,387 members | $13,910.16 raised" Well, since minimum amount of donation is around (what?) 6-7 USD, 16,387 is the total number of all registered members, including those who did not donate. I also think getting one million in such a short period of time is a bit unrealistic, but the more known site will be - the faster it will grow. We'll see.
I also don't know how can they remove users who uses more than one square. As Alicia already said, they can't do it just by looking at IP - at my house we only have one IP; some people may have same names. If someone really wants to have more squares and don't want to get caught - they'll do that without a problem. But I guess that doesn't matter to guiness book, as long as they all appear to be different.

It should, theoretically at least, grow exponentially.... I've been trying to peruade everyone I know to come on, but with limited success in a lot of cases.
But I agree, that does concern me about how its going to be implemented, for example, my girlfriend ( http://www.theonemillionmasterpiece.com/en/profile-453539 ) has started hers on my computer so she can use my graphics tablet, so on a IP basis it would just appear as if it was me doing both, although sh did sign up originally on her own computer if that makes an difference. Similarly, I'm in halls and I'm not sure how the IP address work, I know at my old school the whole place had a single IP address so on places like wikipedia there were complaints when some idiots vandalised some articles they had to bad the whole IP ddress from editing - not saying that theyre likly to do anythign like that here besides childish drawings, but its more that it would be impossible to tell if they are separate people. |

Does that mean you no longer hold the views depicted in your other square? |
