I love portraits, and the main factors that determine whether I enjoy a portrait or not is the quality of the eyes and mouth. Usually a natural smile (or a mischievous grin) appeals to me, but any poignant expression can work. The best way to improve this portrait, in my opinion, would be to show a little bit more of the area around the eyes. Best wishes, John
