Cat, this is a great thread! Just seeing it for the first time.

I love the mix of techniques, styles, tools, etc. on the OMM. I have to admit, though, I've always been curious about who used what.

I used my mouse. Because my hand was less steady than I'd hoped, I used a lot of line drawing (even for curves). I think I used "undo" more than anything else! smiley

Hurray for the mousers! smiley

aw thanks a lot, im quite impressed with the popularity of the thread as well, but it's nice that people can be proud of themselves as it's not easy producing these masterpieces! I picked up that tip of using lines for curves when i was playing around too! smiley

I'm currently trying to get myself a tablet, but I think I'll always prefer the mouse. If you do use a tablet, it's basically a normal painting but with a different media, isn't it?

Hi, mine are all done with a rollerball mouse and I thought it was just me having trouble with curves using a mouse until I saw some previous comments. Really annoying when you go to do a curve and the mouse decides to do a straight line halfway through. Like some of you I have used undo more than anything else. For my latest pic I tried a less controlled approach to the construction so you can't see where the mouse has had a mind of it's own he, he smiley

I have recently gotten a tablet, but because I have been using the mouse for much longer I still find it easier to control that way (except perhaps when drawing circles and precise curves). I drew my first picture by mouse, and for my second picture I used a mixture between mouse and tablet. Sometimes it depends on which hand I feel like using - I'm right handed, but I've always used the mouse with my left. smiley

I'm another luddite! It can be very frustrating using the mouse (mine has a tendency to unclick and click itself when I'm holding the button down), but maybe that just makes it more satisfying when you get something to work! We should open a thread to showcase the work of the graphics tablet lot, then we can decide if it's worth it! =D

I've have gone across to the dark side and bought a tablet as my rollerball mouse kept sticking so I was going to have to get an infra red mouse anyway so I just coughed up the extra dough to get a tablet (Wacom Graphire 4 Classic). I find it a lot easier to draw curves with the tablet and it's easy to use as the pen you get with it is wireless. The software that is supplied with the tablet (Corel Painter Essentials 3) is more difficult to initially understand than the tools on the OMM but it is just going to be a learning process on that side. However when you are using the tablet for the OMM squares you obviously can only use the OMM tools. For those of you who have not seen a tablet they come in various sizes but mine is about the size of a mouse mat and you attach it to the PC via a USB. The tablet is basically a hard piece of plastic with a load of magic stuff inside. Then you can use the pen that comes with the tablet on the tablet to draw as you would on a piece of paper. The position of the pen on the tablet corresponds with the position of the cursor on the screen much the same as a mouse. When using the Corel software supplied with the tablet the pen is pressure sensitive just like a normal pencil or brush which is cool. You won't see a vast difference in my pictures as I am just starting out at this art thing but my Nepal pic, London square and Big Collab pic were done with the tablet and all the others are done with the mouse. I am still blown away by what some people can achieve using a mouse and those of you who use a laptop mouse well hats off to you for your skill and patience. Hope this was helpful but I'm no expert on tablets so it's just some basic info. Oh and you can also use the software to edit your digital photos. Cheers Marksmiley
